This evening features the public performance of the Three Cities sound collaboration project, which has brought together three musicians from Manchester, St. Etienne, and Berlin in February/March 2018. In three steps, working on new music together in Manchester, recording in St. Etienne, and performing in Berlin, the musicians Martha Rose (Berlin), Pailette (St. Etienne) and Shunya (Manchester) have come up with new jointly created music and we look forward to what it sounds like. Each of the musicians will also perform some of their own songs.

TALK

The talk brings together musicians for an exchange of experiences with international collaborations: collaborative projects, exchanges or residency programmes in different contexts. For one, we want to explore the different possibilities of applying for / engaging in such a collaboration. And also discuss what has worked and what didn't, and what kind of recommendations could be given to the institutions organizing those programmes, be they Goethe Institute, the European Union, or communal funds like Musicboard Berlin.

Andi und Hannes Teichmann, aka Gebrüder Teichmann

Johanna Amelie is a Berlin based indie artist, producer and multi-instrumentalist who plays folky indie music on international stages and festivals, sharing stages with local and international artists.

Martha Rose is an English songwriter and multi instrumentalist based in Berlin.

Allie, Florian Boss, is a Berlin based solo musician.

This conversation understands infrastructure as a wide spectrum of arrangements - from interfaces influencing how we feel about a piece of music, to terms of use of a streaming service, up to the economic and organizational models behind a music platform or company. We will attempt to take a brief step back and look at the big picture, the broader, mainstream music infrastructural map. And then to reflect on current developments, also in the mainstream, but in particular those smaller initiatives, experiments and prototypes, run by people who have an issue with the big picture, with the way things are, who aim to change a part of their environment. For example, what could a service like https://resonate.is potentially change, that builds a streaming service on a cooperative model. The panelists contribute their parts to disrupt music infrastructures and/or create alternative ideas, like organizing their own inclusive and non-patriarchal networks with http://creamcake.de, developing a framework to maintain ownership of your creative online content with https://accessions.org/article/saga-v1-0, or critically reviewing the building elements of digital music infrastructures with http://cdm.link. What are the thoughts and motivations behind these and further initiatives, and what do they tell us about the existing infrastructures? Which leads us to also openly think about the future, to anticipate developments that don't exist yet, that we fear, or that we wish for.

Einladung zum Forum für Bildung, Finanzierung und Förderung für Berliner Musiker u. Musikschaffende

Wir laden ganz herzlich Musiker, Musikschaffende, Veranstalter, Labels und Agenturen am Donnerstag den 20. Oktober ein, uns beim Forum SUPPORT Your Local Music Scene zu besuchen. Von 14:30 bis 21:00 Uhr habt ihr die Möglichkeit, eine Vielzahl von Bildungs- Finanzierungs- und Förderangeboten für die Popular-Musik in Berlin kennenzulernen.

Ort: Alte Münze / Spreewerkstätten, Am Krögel 2, 10179 Berlin

Die Berliner Musik-Szene ist ein Magnet für junge Künstler aus aller Welt. Musiker, Labels, Designer, Startups und Agenturen genießen den kreativen Freiraum, das große Angebot von Live-Musik und die Clubszene der Stadt. Die Berliner Musik-Szene ist schon längst zu einer eigenen Marke geworden und ihre Bedeutung wächst von Jahr zu Jahr.

So auch die Anzahl von Musikern- und Musikschaffenden, die jährlich nach Berlin kommen und diesen kreativen Nährboden bereichern und somit einen der mittlerweile wichtigsten Wirtschaftsfaktoren der Stadt stärken.

Im Zuge dessen wächst in Berlin die Anzahl der Bildungs- und Förderangebote für Musiker- und Musikschaffende. Mit unserem Forum möchten wir einen Querschnitt durch das Spektrum der Berliner Angebote schaffen, die sich der Professionalisierung der Musikszene angenommen haben.

Vorstellen werden sich unter anderem Bildungs- u. Beratungseinrichtungen, Musik- und Musikhochschulen mit ihren jeweiligen Stipendien, NGO’s und Projekte sowie kostenlose Tools für die Musikbranche.
