Um als Künstler:in erfolgreich zu sein, ist eine starke Strategie, wie Artists die Beziehungen zu Fans, Audience und Partner:innen gestalten, eines der grundlegendsten Elemente Deiner Musikkarriere. Die größten Künstler:innen der Welt zeigen, dass der Weg an die Spitze kein Zufall ist, sondern vielmehr Resultat harter Arbeit ist, die eine klare Grundlage, eine strategische Gesamtperspektive und intelligentes Handeln für eine starke Artist Brand erfordert. Im Rahmen des Workshops It’s All About The Brand: Das „How To" zum nachhaltigen Aufbau Deiner Künstler:innenmarke lernen die Teilnehmenden, was eine Markenstrategie für Künstler:innen ist, wie man eine solche Strategie erarbeitet und schließlich zum Leben erweckt.

Der Workshop ist in zwei Teile gegliedert: Im ersten Teil werden zunächst unterschiedlichen Begriffe aus den Bereichen Marke, Identität und Strategie unterschieden, gefolgt von einer Einführung in das Grundkonzept der Markenstrategie für Künstler:innen im Allgemeinen, sowie in die Zielgruppe und die Notwendigkeit eine Strategie zu entwickeln. Zum Abschluss des ersten Teils wird das Artist Brand Canvas (ABC) als praktisches Instrument für die Entwicklung vonMarkenstrategien für Künstler:innen vorgestellt.

Der zweite Teil konzentriert sich auf den Prozess der Entwicklung der Strategie Artist Brand. Teilnehmende werden zunächst mit der internen und externen Situationsanalyse, sowie der SWOT-Analyse vertraut gemacht. Um den Grundstein für den eigentlichen Strategieentwicklungsprozess zu legen, werden die Teilnehmenden in die Konzepte des Golden Circle von Sinek sowie in die Identitätsbasierte Markenführung von Burmann als zugrunde liegende wissenschaftliche Modelle eingeführt. Nach Abschluss der Definition der Identität der Künstler:innenmarke werden Messaging und Story der Brand entwickelt und auf die passenden Brand Touchpoints abgestimmt.

We look forward to hosting a conversation at re:publica again this year:

As cultural practitioners, musicians and artists, we use and need certain infrastructures that make our work possible - we think of social media, streaming platforms, performance spaces or public funding schemes. Now, at a moment when the major social media are closely linked to the (incoming) Trump administration in the US, when the local political climate is deprioritising social and cultural budgets, and when AI is filling your slot in the playlist on streaming platforms (which have never worked for creators anyway), we feel more than ever that we can't really rely on the services that provide infrastructures for our work. And with the right-wing normalisation that is happening in many places, including Germany, this will certainly be felt more strongly in the governance of these infrastructures.

But what does that mean? Where to go, what to use, what to do? In this one-hour conversation, hosted by Andrea Goetzke and Eric Eitel from Music Pool Berlin, we would like to explore the state of the various infrastructures. And we'd like to re-imagine what these infrastructures could look like. What alternative models already exist? Can we influence or improve existing structures, or do we need to build something entirely new? How can we build resilient, equitable and sustainable infrastructures for our work and society? How do we want to redesign and reimagine infrastructures? We look at the issue from a perspective of equity that would allow every human being to thrive.

After the session at 19:45, there will be space to continue the conversation and meet each other, alongside music by a2n soundsystem.

Frauke Boggasch beschäftigt sich in ihren Arbeiten mit den Widersprüchen der Kunstproduktion. Neben der Malerei sind Film und Text bevorzugte Medien, um über Erlebtes und Erinnerung nachzudenken und sich mit Fragen der Herkunft, der Klasse und des Zugangs zum Kunstsystem auseinanderzusetzen. Mit ironischen Selbstinszenierungen kommentiert sie die ewigen Vorstellungen des Künstler*genies und interessiert sich insbesondere für japanische Underground-Kultur. Zudem ist sie eine der beiden Sprecher*innen des bbk berlin (berufsverband bildender künstler*innen berlin).

Anita Richelli is a booking agent and concert promoter based in Berlin. She works under her own company: brighter agency. Originally from Verona, she started organizing gigs during high school, in her own DIY place called Casetta Lou Fai. Later, she joined Interzona, a cultural association in her hometown, where she was responsible for the music program and communication. In 2012, she spent some time at Rex Cultural Centre in Belgrade, Serbia. In Berlin since 2010, she has worked for different booking agencies, promoters and festivals, beside working as independent promoter. Since 2022 she is in charge of booking for the showcase part of Most Wanted: Music, Berlin's most important music business event.

Vincent Bababoutilabo ist ein in Berlin lebender Künstler und Autor. Zu seinen Arbeiten gehören der Audiowalk „ZurückERZÄHLT“, der 2022 mit dem 1. Platz des Audiowalk-Awards ausgezeichnet wurde, sowie das Album „Rosa Shakur“ der gleichnamigen Band. Als Sideman ist er im Andromeda Mega Express Orchestra aktiv, welches 2025 für den Deutschen Jazzpreis nominiert wurde.

Current developments in generative AI from musicians' perspectives

In this Music Pool community late afternoon, we look into current developments in generative AI technologies and their applications in music, and discuss them from the perspective of musicians. What does a current reality check look like? What changes?

The session will have two sections:

One section will explore the practical and creative uses of generative AI as a musician. Using genAI for AI-human co-creation and expanding creativity, and finding ways to work and deal with the AI black box. We will consider the usage of big platforms and commercial tools versus using custom software.

And one section will explore the regulatory, legal and financial questions concerning generative AI from musicians' perspectives. When media become more and more interactive and fluid with generative AI, how does that change ideas of authorship and copyright? When every song is at the same time an instrument for users to build on and work with, what new organizational frameworks do we need for creative economies? And how do music platforms use generative AI? What kind of technologies are currently being developed, and who drives their developments and what interests shape them?

We look forward to our conversation with:

Zachary Cooper (Amsterdam Law & Technology Institute | Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam) is a legal scholar, filmmaker and musician, whose research programme focuses on techno-regulatory incoherence when applying copyright law to emerging forms of Generative AI-enabled media. He examines the ways in which Generative AI technologies are able to, sometimes subtly, subvert and confound foundational legal tenets, and how techno-regulatory incoherence is exploited to emancipate emergent tech from the control of the law. He served as Co-Editor of the European Journal of Law and Technology and as Editor-In-Chief of the Amsterdam Law Forum. He recently completed a research programme at the Weizenbaum Institute where he organised an international workshop bringing together leading IP scholars and creative GenAI pioneers to bridge gaps in contemporary scholarship with near-future-state technology.

Leslie García (Microhm) - is an experimental sound artist, electronic music producer, and creative technologist, whose work bridges the worlds of contemporary art and electronic music. Through installations, performances, and sonic explorations, she investigates the intersections between sound, science, and technology. Her moniker Microhm is a sonic exploration of a plethora of genres and experimental electronics, weaving deep textures and pulsating rhythms. With releases on Infinite Machine, Terminal, Static Discos, Umor Rex, and Detroit Underground, her work bridges club dynamics with immersive soundscapes, shaping a unique narrative within contemporary electronic music.

Sharon is an eclectic musician with classical background, an artist, singer, songwriter, pianist, composer, producer and sound designer. STL's art combines ethnic, jazz,
electro and classical elements. Deep roots of multi-cultural musical influences meet the modern world of new Israeli music. Born 1985 in Tel Aviv, Israel, very soon at the age of six Sharon became best friends with the classical piano. Music is her mother tongue. STL, winner of the Rock Rimon competition and graduate of the Jerusalem Music Academy has successfully toured the country with her very well received records SHINY STUFF and MAKOM, released under the label of Nana Disc, with the support of ACUM, the Society of Authors, Composers and Music Publishers in Israel and the National Lottery MIPHAL HAPAIS. Her song MADANIM entered Apple Music's "Best Of The Week" playlist. In 2019 Sharon won the ACUM Songwriter Award and was invited to play the Piano Festival Tel Aviv. In addition to her solo career, Sharon teaches, produces and composes music
for the media. She currently releases her third studio album in Hebrew, has an English language album in the mixes and is writing an Iraqi language project.

Creating and releasing Sample Packs can be a rewarding process for artists, giving both new life to existing work, and developing an additional income stream. On platforms like Splice and Bandcamp and everything in between, electronic artists can release sample packs made of their own sounds and share them with the world. In this workshop, participants will turn one of their own tracks into a themed sample pack ready to be packaged and sold. Participants will have the option of sharing their sample packs with the other workshop participants.

Target audience: Intermediate music producers curious about how to make their own unique and distinctive sample packs

Workshop requirements: Participants to bring a laptop with a DAW installed, headphones, and a recent original track from which to make samples out of.

Content: Participants will be walked through the technical and conceptual considerations of creating a cohesive and unique sample pack from their existing work. This will include hands-on time within which to process and package the samples, as well as legal considerations and an overview of potential marketing opportunities and vendors.

Creating is hunting.

Hunting for sounds, hunting for beats, hunting for inspiration. This workshop is intended for songwriters and artists who wish to explore sampling as a creative tool. In the workshop Asaf Eden will share his unique workflow, developed in over 15 years of working with samples both live and in the studio. Following Marshall McLuhan´s saying that “the medium is the message” we will see how sampling offers an unconventional , often anti-establishment way of creating music that resonates pioneering movements in modern art. We will “hunt” for samples together and create the foundation for our own sample library. This workshop combines theory and hands-on practice. It is recommended to bring a laptop and headphones.

For whom?

The workshop is intended for creative people who wish to explore another avenue of expression and familiarise themselves with sampling, conceptually and technically. There is no need to have experience with sampling or to own a sampler.

By who?

Asaf Eden is the songwriter and producer known as Ryskinder. For more than a decade of musical activity he has been using samplers both live and in the studio.

Performer, poet, video artist and music producer Asaf Eden was born in Jerusalem in1983. He has been fusing experimental sampling and traditional songwriting In more than a
