Who are the players involved?
What are their tasks and how do they work together?
What exactly makes a label, what a publisher, what a booking agency, etc.?

Is a classic record deal with a major label still the ultimate or are there even more attractive alternatives?

The workshop aims to give a broad introduction to booking tours in Europe and specifically in the German-speaking countries, with a step-by-step guide on:

how and when to prepare a tour, doing it yourself vs. working with an agency
where to go and specifics of different kind of venues and promoters
how to address promoters and venues
organize transportation, bureaucracy and logistics
tour promotion and media relations

The workshop is aimed at both artists that have just started out or want to tour in Europe for the first time as well as artists who have already toured a bit, giving (hopefully) valuable new tips, tricks & insights, with a focus on small & mid-sized venues as well as DIY structures and networks.
